Waveshare PICkit 5 In-Circuit Debugger/Programmer, Type-C Port, MPLAB Support

The device connects to a computer via a USB Type-C cable. It can be powered through the USB cable or the target board, and it can optionally power the target (up to 150 mA). The device supports powering from the target board (2.7V~5.5V). It has an onboard 8-pin SIL programming connector that supports ICSP, JTAG, SWD, and UART VCP. The device can program devices using MPLAB X IDE or MPLAB IPE, and it supports Programmer-To-Go (PTG) to field program devices.

The device also supports the MPLAB PTG iOS/Android app, which can be used to select and manage PTG program images via Bluetooth. Additionally, it supports Virtual Comm Port (VCOM). The device offers multiple hardware and software breakpoints, allowing users to set a stopwatch, monitor variables, and access internal file registers. It supports debugging in real-time and at full device operational speed.

New devices and features can be supported through new or updated packs in MPLAB X IDE or MPLAB IPE. The device indicates its debugger status via an indicator light strip and is CE and RoHS compliant.
